Digital Selective Calling suggested by international radiotelegraphy advisory committee is applied to mobile service at sea.DSC terminal is one of MF/HF/VHF communication appliance at sea, in Globe maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS), distress alert can be sent through DSC terminal by surface frequency communication system.Meanwhile DSC terminal also has Digital Selective Calling function.This paper summarizes the principle of DSC system, the development of inland and international technology, and introduces the state of GMDSS application;Up on the need of software, this paper investigates the operational requirement of DSC9006 DSC project in the teaching practice, the most basic design requirement of back software program, the requirement of teaching practice. It can save resources and enhance the quality and efficiency of teaching.During design moment, the paper analyses the structure of software simulation and defines the system structure of software, which can make reasonable framework for the next step software programming.This paper exploits the SKANTI DSC 9006 in GMDSS by simulator software using software Microsoft visual studio VB.The simulator has all functions of SKANTI DSC9006 except for the background light, which includes communication function, sound and light alert hint function. The simulator has lots of characteristics:high-emulation, software operation conveniency, installation conveniency and so on. The software not only has supplied high-emulation teaching software for GMDSS teaching program, but also supported to exploit the further GMDSS simulator teaching software.
