Objective:The study aimed to establishing a evaluation index system for the behavior of patients with diabetes, which is more scientific, easy to use and suitable for Chinese patients,in order to provide the theoretical foundations and effective tool to evaluate the health-related behavior of patients with diabetes accurately. Methods:Based on the literature analysis, theoretical analysis, in-depth interviews, items for the evaluation system were collected. Application of Delphi expert consultation method of screening indicators; used Analytic Hierarchy Process to determine the weight indicator system. The reliability analysis included the Cronbach a coefficient and test-retest reliability. The validity analysis included face validity, content validity and Structural validity; application of Excel 2003 and SPSS 16.0 statistical software for data processing. Results:The evaluation index system of the behavior of Patients with diabetes was constructed, which was composed of 24 items from 6 domains including healthy eating, being active regularity, monitor, taking medication, psychology coping and manage risks. The Enthusiasm Coefficient of experts was from 86.7% to 100%,the Authority Coefficient of experts was all over 0.70. After 3 rounds of expert consultation, the Coefficients of Variation of the 24 items ranged from 0 to 0.279 (<0.3). The Harmonization Coefficient W of 24 items was 0.521. The weights of the 6 domains in the first grade index and 24 items were set up. The weights of the 6 domains including healthy eating, being active regularity, monitor, taking medication, psychology coping and manage risks were 0.166,0.164,0.194,0.175,0.145 and 0.155 respectively. The test-retest reliability coefficient is 0.906. Cronbach a coefficient of the total score is 0.816. The content validity and the face validity were well. The correlation coefficient between the total index system and each domain ranged from 0.433to 0.668. The correlation coefficient between each domain and their items ranged from 0.207 to 0.973(P<0.05). The factor analysis result showed that 8 factors were picked up which proved the function of the index system. The cumulative extraction sum of squared loading was 73.489%, these data suggest that configuration of questionnaire was accordant to the result of factor analysis approximately. The questionnaire had a better construct validity. Conclusions:For my evaluation index system of the behavior of Patients with diabetes, including six-level indicators and 24 items. The weight from high to low were: monitor, taking medication, healthy eating, being active regularity, manage risks and psychology coping. The results of test proved that the system had good reliability and validity.
