Reliability design is the most important and critical aspect to ensure the reliability of the mechanical products. At present, gear reducers as mechanical transmissions have been widely used in various fields in the national economy and defense industry and their demands are increasing. Although a lot of companies nowadays use CAD softwares to shorten the production cycle and improve the design quality, but these softwares are generally developed with conventional design methods, lacking the capability of reliability design. As gear modeling is very difficult in the three-dimensional modeling, if the new three-dimensional parts and components models are directly derived according to the sizes of the parts and components of the gear reducer designed by the CAD software, the workload of the designers will be greatly reduced and the design efficiency will be improved. What's more, it facilitates the follow-up finite element analysis, virtual manufacturing and CAM, etc. Basing on this, this dissertation carries out the research and development of the two-stage cylindrical gear reducer parameteried CAD system. Main tasks are as follows:⑴Developing the application software of the conventional design and reliability design of the parts and components of the gear reducer. Using VC++ 6.0 integrated development environment, object-oriented technology and database technology to design interface for users to set up the original data of the transmission and code the program, the parameteried CAD system can implement the conventional design and reliability design of the gear drive system, as well as the structure design of other parts and components of the shaft assembly and the design results are exported as files both in .doc and .txt.⑵Coding secondary development application program to carry out the virtual design and assembly of the parts and components of the middle shaft. Using Pro/E parametric modeling function to set up the three-dimensional model samples of the parts and components of the shaft assembly and the secondary development kit Pro/TOOLKIT of Pro/E in VC, new models of the parts and components of the shaft assembly can be deprived.
