Because of the extensive application field of fan, which type is various, and the process of design and calculation is complicated, and the drawing workload is large, with the addition of the current design calculation theory of fan has not yet fully matured, existing differences in various designing and calculating methods, and also existing great capriciousness in the various parameters of selecting, if designing the more higher performance of fan or not, it depends on the fan designer previous experience, thus resulting in the traditional design method has been difficult to achieve in designing and producing the fan which can meet the various requirements of the users in a short period. Therefore carrying out the researching of fan designing theory and method, putting forward the new more reasonable design methods, and making computer programmed in designing calculation process and the rendering process of the fan drawings, which is the problems to solve urgently in present fan industry, especially in small and medium-sized enterprise.With AutoCAD for basic platform, using the object-oriented and visual programming tools Visual Studio 2005 and powerful database management system Microsoft Access 2003, researching and developing a centrifugal fan CAD system of strong practicability and friendly man- machine interface which is in Windows operating system.This system is based on the.NET platform for AutoCAD with secondary development, which using C# language to compile the fan parametric drawing program, and using the ADO.NET database access technology to realize the connection of database management system. Through the database accessing, extracting main parts of parameters of fan from database, automatically calculating each point coordinates of the fan parts graph, and drawing it. Through the designing of system interface and menu, which realizes that user can be convenient, fast to operate and use it. This system has realized fan selection, design calculation and parametric drawing function of computer programmed process which laid a foundation for the future design standardization of fan.
