Counter-rotating turbine without guide vanes has higher efficiency, less weight and broader applied range than the ordinary turbine. Extensive attention has been put on it all over the world. By far, overseas designers have made great progresses in study and application of counter-rotating turbine, so it is necessary to do deeper study on counter-rotating turbine for us.Research on aerodynamic design of 1+1/2 counter-rotating turbine was performed in this paper. A new designing system for 1+1/2 counter-rotating turbine was formed. Using controlled vortex technology based on the streamline curvature methods, S2 stream surface of 1+1/2 counter-rotating turbine was designed. The effects of circulation profile and magnitude in the outlet on the performance of turbine were also discussed in the paper. The parametric method and bezier curve method were used to design and optimize the blade profile. The commercial CFD software was used to analyze the Sl flow field and the whole 3D viscous flow field in turibne, and the effect of axial clearance on performance of turbine also was studied.
