This paper firstly reviewed the development status of biodegradable engine oil at home and abroad. Secondly, by analyzing the lubrication state and wear character of the main tribo-pairs of engine and the biodegradable engine oilæ¯ demands on the lubrication mechanism and biodegradable performance, base oil and some additives were chosen scientifically and reasonably. Through a series of experiments, the sensitivit~?and compatibility between the base oil and additives were studied and the optimum formulation of 1OW/30 SG gasoline engine oil was presented. Finally, tentative study on the biodegradation test methods is taken and the biodegradation is evaluated. Simultaneously, several experiments were made to evaluate the property of the formulation by comparing with the commercial oils? The results showed that their qualities were equivalent and the former had better biodegradable performance than petrolatum-based engine oil. |
