This topic is based on the Social Development Fund Project in Tianjin (09ZCGYSF00300) "Research of Speed Secure Real-time monitoring system for measuring traceable calibration standards". With the rapid economic and socia development of China, all kinds of vehicles and highway road have become indispensable to people's lives and the main transportation mode, but the following road traffic accidents remain high, how to measure the speed of vehicles and detect over-speeding vehicles have become an important part of modern intelligent traffic management.There are many ways of testing vehicle speed, ground sense coil speed, laser speed, video speed, radar speed, etc. Radar is used most widely. Doppler radar speed is to use the principle to acquire the frequency offset signal of moving targets, and measure velocity by signal processing.Traditional radar speed measurement system uses analog filtering, or use singlechip for processing, the reaction is slow and resolution is low. This paper focuses on Doppler principle and a variety of digital signal processing algorithms, using DSP to process radar signals, completing the design of Radar hardware and software system, which can effectively improve the resolution, deal with all kinds of interference, and obtain accurate speed.This paper's main job is as follows:1. Study of several methods of vehicle speed and its advantages and disadvantages, the principle of radar, the Doppler effect derivation and the analysis, design of the radar block diagram and working methods.2. Hardware system design is to complete the baseband processor unit design of radar system, including choosing the A/D converter, determining the DSP chip and its peripheral circuit operating frequency, connections of DSP and MCU. DSP is responsible for algorithm, filtering and real-time signal processing, microcontroller is responsible for input-output processing and completing and communication. This design uses TMS320C5402 as the main signal processing chip, supported by FLASH extension memory to support rapid computing, using AT89S52 MCU to control the keyboard, display, serial communications interface, reducing the speed in the process of computing processing time.3. In system's software algorithms simulation, radar speed signal processing commonly uses power spectral estimation methods, this paper describes in detail the classic FFT spectral estimation and BURG algorithm based on AR model of modern power spectral estimation algorithm,and its principles and steps and simulation in MATLAB, by comparing computational complexity and resolution precision of various algorithms, we choose BURG as signal processing algorithms. Experiment and simulation have shown that the digital signal processing system designed in this paper has good performance.
