At present, the Daqing oilfield with an annual amount for the preparation of the polymer powder has reached the level of 6 × 104 t, to save water and thus reduce the cost of polymer flooding. Daqing O ilfield has built a number of polymer mixing and injecting stations.These stations use deep treatment polymer-contained sewage aerated to dilute polymer solutions. This technology can not only ease the oily water reinjection difficult, but also solves the emissions problem with a lot of treatment costs. However, the deep treatment of polymer-contained sewage need large area, and the filtration rate is low, the treatment is small. For conservation of water resources and reducing operating cost, using ordinary polymer-contained sewage as the water to dilute polymer solutions will be the future development trend.For these reasons, we try to confirm ordinary polymer-contained sewage can be used as the water to dilute polymer solutions. The research subjects of this issue are ordinary polymer-contained sewage and deep-treatment polymer-contained sewage, to comparative analysis of the outcome of water, t he main difference between the two kinds of water quality are the concentration of suspended solids and oil content. The concentration of suspended solids and oil content of the ordinary polymer-contained sewage are higher than the ones of deep–treatment polymer-contained sewage. At the same time, the Fe2+content of the ordinary polymer-contained sewage is higher than the one of deep–treatment polymer-contained sewage.Experiments confirmed the effect of the various components of the ordinary polymer-contained sewage to the polymer solution viscosity and the trends of them: the order of the various components of the ordinary polymer-contained sewage to affect the polymer solution viscosity is: Fe2+>S2->Mg2+>Ca2+>Fe3+>Na+. The oil and the suspended solids have no effect on the viscosity of the polymer solution, and the highsalinitywilllead to a sharpviscosity reductionof the polymer solution.For the main factors, in order to select the good viscosity increasing effect sewage treatment, experiments confirmed that using the method of lower salinity, dosing of complexing agent to remove calcium and magnesium ions, adding oxidant, aeration can effectively improve the viscosity of polymer solution which is diluted by the polymercontained sewage.Comparison of several thickening methods, the final choice of efficient and economical method of thickening is aeration.In order to the further confirm the feasibility of using the aeration to treat the common polymer-contained sewage and the processing parameters. The results showed that, the oxygen compressor and the jet aerator have t he same effect of removal reducing substances. From the effect of dissolved oxygen, the oxygen compressor is better than the jet aerator, but when the air-water ratios of these two kinds of aerations are the same, the viscosity of the polymer solution is the same. At last, we select the air compressor from an economic point. When the gas-water ratio is 0.6, the maximum viscosity of the polymer solution which is diluted by the deep-treatment polymercontained sewage is 48.5 mpa·s, when the gas-water ratio is 0.8, the maximum viscosity of the polymer solution which is diluted by the ordinary polymer-contained sewage is 43.7 mpa·s. The viscosity of the polymer solution which is diluted by the ordinary polymer-contained sewage can come up to the standard of deep-treatment polymercontained sewage. It’s feasible to use aeration to treat the ordinary polymer-contained sewage for diluting the polymer solution.
