Nowadays polymer flooding was becoming one of the most common oil productiontechnologies. So the protection of the polymer viscosity was the core of entire design whichwas the polymer flooding oil ground. Also it was the basic requirements of the surface processon polymer flooding. In order to decrease the loss of polymer solution viscosity that was onthe source of ground preparation injection system, we can control the preparation of waterquality, preferred transportation and injection pipe. It was important to decrease the loss ofpolymer solution viscosity. It can reduce the amount of polymer powder and ensure thepolymer flooding development effective and economic benefit. In this paper, the author did research on the basic rheological property of the polymersolution and the effect of common ions and the pipeline material on the viscosity of polymersolution by rheological measurement technology.Through the study of the basic rheological property of the polymer solution, the polymersolution belonged to non-Newtonian fluid and reflects the typical yield pseudoplasticcharacterwastics were found. The viscosity of polymer solution decreased with the increase ofthe shear rate. Meanwhile, it had typically shear thinning. Also when the concentration ofpolymer became higher, the system structure became stronger and the viscosity becamegreater. In the contrary, when temperature of measuring became higher, the system structurebecame weaker and the viscosity became smaller.Through the study of the common ion effect on the viscosity of polymer solution, theauthor found the cation in the preparation water had a great influence on the viscosity of thepolymer solution. In the condition of the same ion, it was found that the higher concentrationof ion led to the lower viscosity of the polymer solution. In the rendition of the same ion and the same concentration of the ion, it was found that the lower concentration of the polymersolution led to the more obvious effect on viscosity reduction of the cation. In the condition ofthe same concentration of the same ion, the higher of cationic valence led to the more obviouseffect on viscosity reduction of the polymer solution. In addition, the cation had an effect onthe liquid temperature resistance of the polymer injection. In the condition of the same ion,the liquid temperature resistance with increasing ion concentration and gradually becomeweak polymer injection. In the same concentration of the ion, the higher polymerconcentration led to the better temperature tolerance to the same ion. But in the condition ofthe same ion concentration, the effect of high valence cation on temperature resistance wasgreater than the effect of low valence cation on the temperature resistance, which was aboutthe same concentration of the polymer solution.Through the study of the effect of liquid viscosity of polymer injection pipe, it was foundthat the20#seamless steel pipe had a great influence on the injection of polymer solutionviscosity. It was because that polymer solution had the chemical degradation in the20#seamless steel tube. So it didn’t recommend to use the20#seamless steel pipe for pipeline ofpolymer solution. In the contrary, the glass-fiber-reinforced plastic pipe,0Cr18Ni9stainlesssteel pipe, anticorrosive coating pipe and flexible composite high-pressure pipe were all usedas the pipeline of polymer solution. Among them, anticorrosive coating pipe and flexiblecomposite high-pressure pipe were the best.
