Mining wasteland has caused great environment damages. Ecological restoration of mining wasteland is indispensable for resource-saving and environment friendly. On the basis of field investigation on Huangyuan quarry in northern end of Taihang Mountain, it is classified as rock slope, soil slope, soil rock mixture slope considering soil conditions. Every single engineering revegetation technology is detailedly introduced, including construction approach, process, principle and application. The system of engineering revegetation technology has been tried to establish. Combined with microsite type classification, summarize applied ecological restoration projects in mining wasteland, matching the most approporiate enginering revegetation technology for each microsite type. Moreover, we have evaluated ecological restoration benefit to prove the correctness of para research. The results are as follows:(1) Principal components analysis and cluster analysis are used in the process of microsite type division. Rock slope is divided into half shadow rough middle long slope, shadow rough short steep slope, sunny middle rough short steep slope, half sunny middle rough middle long steep slope, half sunny middle rough short steep slope; Soil slope is divided into sunny short slope, half sunny middle long slope, shadow middle long slope, half sunny long slope; Soil rock mixture slope is divided into half sunny middle rough slope, half shadow middle rough slope, half shadow smooth gentle slope, sunny smooth steep slope, half sunny middle rough long steep slope; half shadow middle rough steep slope, half sunny middle rough steep slope, shadow smooth steep slope, shadow rough steep slope and sunny middle rough slope.(2) Engineering revegetation techniques are divided into 6 categories according to technical principle, protection object, application condition. It includes revegetation, common vegetation, slope surface protection and revegetation, slope surface protection and common vegetation, slope protection and revegetation, slope protection and common vegetation.(3) Theoretical analysis method is applied to do counterpoint research. Table named engineering revegetation techniques of different microsite types is summary of research.Ecological Restoration Benefit Evaluation System is built to evaluate engineering revegetation technique benefits. Frequency analysis method and analytic hierarchy process are conducted to select index factors. These factors are vegetation restoration benefit, soil and water conservation benefit, secondary disaster control benefit. Experts evaluation method and fuzzy evaluation method are used to evaluate engineering revegetation technique benefits. The evaluation score is 7.03 and 6.69, which means engineering revegetation technique benefits are good.
