Risk Management Cases Study In International Contracting

Nowadays, developmental prospect appears in international contracting fields. With style and connotation of international contracting changing largely, risks the contractor meet increase and become diverse. Risk management methods in the project management, including design, commerce, contract, organization, safety, finance, cost and schedule management during project planning, engineering, construction, operation and management in the international contracting, are studied in the thesis by analyzing cases, which are projects executed by Chinese main state-owned enterprises, in Consortium or Joint Venture in the manner of BOT,PPP,EPC,DB, in the recent years.The following aspects are studied in the thesis: Firstly,characters, scope and methods of international contracting are stated in the chapter. Secondly, total 7 risks including commerce, organization, planning, safety, quality, political, economic, legal, contract, financing risks are analyzed by studying 7 cases. Each case studies one risk it is distinct. On this base, risk management in the international contracting system are summerrized, which involes risk management process and respond. Then, usual risk in the international contracting and DB/EPC/BOT /PPP model are analyzed. Finally, some rules established by usage in the international contracting are stated.International engineering project risk management play a very importment role in the project management. Enhancing commerce, organization, planning, safety, quality, political, economic, legal, contract, financing risks management is base of completing a project successfully. The process of risk management includes recognizing, analyzing, valuing and responding. Risk responding includes risk eluding, risk transferring, risk dispersing and risk receiving. Detailed, scientific, feasible risk response methods should be reply to avoid risks in the international contracting and DB/EPC/BOT/PPP model.
