It is now a hot topic of how to reveal and regulate all kinds of scientific misconducts and to curb scientific misconducts in scientific circle. Based on facts, supported by theories, the paper makes an indepth research on scientific misconduct from three aspects through comparison and analysis, and tries to find causes and put forward measures against the scientific misconduct. The paper consists of a preface and three main parts:Part one: Theories of the scientific misconduct. The content of this part consists of: firstly, discussion about the definition and character of the scientific misconduct which are prepared as the basis of the whole research; secondly, analysis on its forms, types and harms by combining examples with theories.Part two: Causes of the scientific misconduct. This part is the key part of this paper. In this part, from macroscopic field to microscopic field, from social environment to individual factor, from system to notion, various causes of the scientific misconduct are analyzed in terms of economy, culture, system, morality and law, which provide a theoretical foundation for the study on measures against the scientific misconduct.Part three: Measures of the scientific misconduct. It is the core as well as the most difficult part of this part. According to the basis theories and causes discussed in the previous parts, feasible measures curbing scientific misconduct are raised, involving four aspects: carrying forward the scientific spirit, reinforcing the scientific system, improving the scientific morality and amplifying the scientific law, which will be a reference for reconstructing the scientific rules and the scientific morality and curbing the scientific misconduct.
