Deserticulture Exploitation And Agricultural Sustainable Development In Hexi Region Of Gansu Province

The deserticulture theory presented by the famous scientist, Qian Xuesen, makes it possible to exploit the sunlight and heat resources, generalize and use the water-saving technology and develop modern knowledge-intensive agriculture in barren desert and Gobi area. There are 14, 365 thousand hectares Gobi desert and desertified land in Hexi Region of Gansu province, which is 80 percent of the total area of this region, and 33.7percent of Gansu . To a large degree, this limited the agricultural sustainable development of this region with its serious damages of desertification, drought and short of rainfall and scarce of water resource altogether. So exploitation of sand industry that makes the best of the natural resources and employs the technical principle as so called "more lighting , less water , new technology , high benefit" is the inevitable choice for agricultural sustainable development of the region.Pointing to the basic conditions for sand industry development offered by the physiographical factors, resource and environment of Hexi, this paper systematically analyzes the relationships between deserticulture and forestry, planting , animal husbandry, produce processing, sustainable exploitation and reasonable use of water resource on the basis of the theoretical framework ,Characteristics and development principles of deserticulture , and the persistence of government concern and big group development of sand industry is discussed in the perspective of laws and financial policy support . The contents are summarized as follows:Part 1, accounting for the brief explanation background and research meaning and domestic and international research of selection of subject condition.
