Bohai SZ36-1oilfield possesses several challenging characteristics such as high viscousoil, serious heterogeneity, great diversity of oil-water mobility, etc., which consequences ofthe delay of flood front and irregular sweep during the water flooding process; this situationfurther aggravates the reservoir heterogeneity and makes the injected water move faster in thehigher permeable zone. As the tenure of the platform is limited, therefore, we desperatelyneed to find an efficient measure to control the early water breakthrough and improve theeffects of water flooding, which adapt the characteristics of such a block. In recent years, therapid development of the foam flooding has become the key technology for improved oilrecovery. Apart from its multifunctional role, it has a dual tendency for the reservoirperformance; first it plugs the high-water bearing layers and thus displaces the viscous oil,resulting in greater sweep efficiency and enhances the overall recovery.This article combined the Bohai oilfield vertical heterogeneity characterization and theproduction behavior to design the experimental parameters; on the basis of choosing theNitrogen foaming agent and the experimental mass fraction. The experimental study of foamflooding and the analysis of its plugging capability in different gas-liquid ratio and variedpermeability with the means of physical simulation technology for Single-core, Paralleltwin-core and Parallel triple-core model was investigated for the study of interlayerinterference and compatibility of the foam system in different permeability contrast. Theexperimental results show that with increase in permeability, the level of each tube crude yieldgreater recovery. In the range of experimental design, with the increase in permeabilitycontrast, the flooding resulted better, and the foam’s plugging ability becomes more effective.For the highest permeability ratio, the parallel double sand packs, by changing the moisturecontent (95%), the injected foam results in the highest recovery for the reservoir conditions.Thus, overall comprehensive issues related to heterogeneous reservoir in Bohai oilfield can beovercome through the applied foam flooding process to improve the overall recovery ratio.
