With the acceleration of urbanization in the world, heavy metal pollution andother environmental problems have become increasingly prominent, seriously affectand restrict the development of economy and society. Road soil heavy metalpollution in the environment play a role is hidden, long-term potential, and the effectof the presence of enriched soil heavy metal pollution in urban road becomes animportant urban environmental issues. What’s more, there is an important aspect ofurban road dust pollution in the urban environment also, which is the carrier ofvarious pollutants, other studies have found that the role of the media in the dirt roaddisasters in urban environments. Heavy metals seriousness and urgency of the studybased on urban roads pollution of soil and dust, this paper takes the heavy metals ofthe soil and road dust in Xiangtan city as the research object. The content, spatialdistribution characteristics, pollution status and correlations with their grain size ofheavy metals of the soil and road dust as the content are studied in this thesis.Studies have shown that:(1)In Xiangtan City roads, soil heavy metals like Cu, Cd, Cr, Pb, Zn wereaverage at68.87,0.33,116.12,466.57,564.01mg/kg, Cu, Cd, Cr, Pb, Zn in the dustwere average at91.29,0.43,115.60,549.63,536.8mg/kg; By comparing the roadcoefficient of variation of heavy metals in soil and dust, Cu, Cd, Pb coefficient ofvariation within the moderate range of variability, and Cr, Zn showing very weakvariability, which may be associated with a relatively stable source of two elements.(2)Distribution characteristics of soil and dust in the road space, Distributiontrends of the content of Cu, Cd, Pb in soil were very similar, content in east arehigher than the west, the Cr content is not obvious regional variations, Zr content isunevenly distributed. The content’s change of Cu, Cd, Cr in the dust is graduallyreduced from the southwest to the northeast, Zn content’s spatial trends in the northis higher than in south, Pb content’s trend is from the northwest to southeast andfrom high to low.(3)Xiangtan City road soil heavy metals pollution levels in descending orderis Pb, Zn, Cd, Cr and Cu, Pb was heavy pollution, High to low levels of heavy metalpollution in dust is Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, Cr, Pb in soil and dust were both heavy pollutionlevel.(4)There is no linear correlation between heavy metals in soil and dust roads, there is a significant correlation between Pb in road soil with other elements, androad dust Cr elements and other elements of the four heavy metals have a significantcorrelation; In Road soil, Cr, Zn and its particle size distribution have a correlation, and in road dust, only particles larger particle size of the Cr and heavy metal contentare negatively correlated.
