The characteristics of pharmaceutical wastewater is complex, variety, highconcentration organic pollutant, and poor biochemical, great water fluctuation,whichis because of difference of production of products, production process. The wastewaterbelongs to high concentration organic wastewater which is treated more difficultly. Thestudy adopts the combination of hydrolysis acidification-biological contact oxidationprocess, biological pharmaceutical wastewater from a biological pharmaceuticalinstitute in Wuhan as the study object, on the basis of research at home and abroad. Thestudy will provide reference for the design and operation of the wastewater treatmentprocess for such pharmaceutical wastewater.Research makes use of activated sludge inoculation method to start. Treatmentuses combined packing, the packing density of suspension is30/m, and the fill rate is6.7%. When the system is stable, the DO is0~0.5mg/L, the value of pH is5.0~6.5,the temperature is22.3~24.2℃, the optimum HRT in hydrolysis acidification reactorto remove CODcr is8h, CODcr removal rate is34.7%. When the volume loading is1.43kgCOD/m3.d, CODcr removal rate is0.498kgCOD/m3.d. When the DO is1.8~3.5mg/L, the temperature is23~26℃, the optimum HRT in biological contactoxidation reactor is12h, CODcr removal rate is90.4%, When the volume loading is1.52kgCOD/m3.d, CODcr removal rate is1.170kgCOD/m3.d. The optimum HRT inhydrolysis acidification reactor to remove NH3-N is10h, NH3-N removal rate is82.7%.When the HRT in the hydrolysis is8h, in the biogical contact oxidation reactor is10h, water quality is unchanged, gas-water ratio is20:1, the optimum temperature is25℃to remove CODcr and the optimum temperature is25℃to remove NH3-N in thebiological contact oxidation reactor.When the temperature is25℃,the optimumgas-water ratio is25:1to remove CODcr and NH3-N.Orthogonal experimental study showed that the optimum HRT is12h, the gas-water ratio is25:1in the biological contact oxidation reactor and the volume ratio is1.5:1, the system CODcr removal rate was95.8%, NH3-N removal rate was88.5%.Effluent quality reach the “bio-engineering pharmaceutical wastewater industrial waterpollutant discharge standards(GB21907-2008)”.
