The Mongolia Yiluo River iron ore(brought from out of China)and the ore used in sintering producing at BISCO were studied by this paper. The types and characteristics of Mongolia Yiluo River iron ore were analyzed systematically, the result can provide theoretical guidance to it’s application at BISCO. The impurity content of self-produced concentrate is high, especially kalium, sodium, fluorine. Mongolia Yiluo River iron ore with high iron grade, impurity content is relatively low, cheap price,etc. Through experiments, exploring the reasonable configuration for Yiluo River iron ore and self-produced iron during sintering, meanwhile it can improve the quality of sinter. This study will help Baotou Steel to reduce the costs and increase the profits, it also have economical and social benefits.Mongoliaore powder getting four types:The High-grade-low-sulfur, low-grade-low-sulfur, low-grade-high-sulfur and Mongolia concentrate. The Sintering Basic characteristics of Mongolia ore, main-east concentrate, Barun concentrate and Australian ore were been tested. The experimental results show that:The Mongolian High-grade-low-sulfur ore powder have great performance on flow properties assimilation, strength of the binding phase, Calcium ferrite capabilities.It can be used in sintering production with self-produced concentrate. The Si content of low-grade-low-sulfur type is relatively high, it can be used as the transfer agent in sintering producing. The low-grade-high-sulfur must been regrinding before sintering.According to the sintering basic characteristics, combined the resources at Baotou Steel sintering producing, the author recommend reasonable proposals on ore blending for the new system of Baotou steel by sintering pot experiments.Plan1:Barun concentrate: High-grade-low-sulfur type:Mongolia concentrate:Australian ore=20%:35%:0%:45%; Plan2:Barun concentrate:High-grade-low-sulfur type:Mongolia concentrate:Australian ore=20%:35%:10%:35%; Plan3:Barun concentrate:High-grade-low-sulfur type: Mongolia concentrate:Australian ore=20%:35%:25%:20%; Plan4:Barun concentrate: High-grade-low-sulfur type:Mongolia concentrate:Australian ore:20%:30%:30%:20%; Trough those tests and results on chemical, physical,metallurgical properties,we can draw an conclusion that the plan4is the best plan. The sinter iron grade is58.38%, content of calcium ferrite is40%, the reduction degree is86.64%, reduction powdering index is73.50%, initial softening temperature is1184℃,198℃dropping interval.
