In this paper, a detailed analysis of the species composition, floristic geographical composition and characteristics of the bryophytes was researched in Baiyun mine. Meanwhile comparing floristic composition, floristic geographical composition of the bryophytes in the other domestic mine were conducted. And callus induction of Didymodon tectorum gametophyte was made. The main results of this study are as follows:1.8 families,17 genera and 37 species of bryophytes were found in this area, keys of families and dominant genera were compiled. Taxonomic characteristics of representative species were photographed and made into plates.2. Dominant families in the area is Pottiaceae and Bryaceae, of which Didymodon, and Bryum are preponderant genera. The species including Didymodon tectorum, Tortula sinensis, Jaffuelibryum wrightii and Eurohypnum leptothallum etc, are widely distributed in the mining area and have larger biomass. Through a comparative analysis of floristic elements with other five domestic mines, it shows that the bryoflora of Baiyun Obo mine is most similar to Heidaigou mine of Gansu, and with farthest distance from Daye mine of Hubei. For the tissue culture of Didymodon tectorum, the best medium is Knop, the optimal culture conditions is that temperature 24+2℃, humidity 85%, light 40001ux, 16h light plus 8h dark cycle culture, optimum hormone combinations is added 0.5 mg.L-1 KT hormone.
