The Baiyun obo mining area is rich in mineral resources,and it is not treated by perennial mining.In addition,this area belongs to the desert steppe climate,which causes the ecological damage to be difficult to recover.The bryophyte has important ecological functions and is an important type of surface cover in arid and semi-arid areas.It is of great significance for desert fixation,wind erosion,water erosion.The purpose of this study is to investigate the moss in the mining area(main mine,east mine,west mine),the periphery of the mining area(east,south,west,and north),Using the combination of classical taxonomy and molecular systematic taxonomy to explore the classification and bryoflora in the Baiyun obo mining area to provide scientific data and reference for environmental monitoring and ecological restoration of mining areas.The main results are as followsMore than 1200 bryophytes specimen has been collected from The Baiyun obo mining area and Peripheral area,a total of 94 and varieties in 40 genera and 17 families were reported,Among them,7 species belonged to 4 genera in 3 families were Hepaticae,while 87 specie,36 genus in 87 family was Musci.In this paper,the classified retrieval tables of families,genera and species are listed.The key features,specimen citation and micromorphologic anatomic maps are introduced in each group.One species were new records in Mongolia Didymodon anserinocapitatus;One new species in Mongolia:Bryoerythrophyllum latinervium var.rotundatum;a new taxonomy found that:the leaves of the Anomodon minor were alternated in a single layer and unstable.The species in the mining area and the periphery of the mining area were sorted,and the species number and diversity index of the seven locations in the mining area were compared.The results show that the number of species is ranked as following:South-Guyang along the line>West Mine>West-Ming'an Town along the line>East-Bai ling Temple along the line>North-Mandula along the line>East Mine>Main;The Shannon-Winener value as following:South-Guyang along the line>East-Bai ling Temple>Western Mine>West-Ming' an Town>North-Mandula along the line>East Mine>Main;The Pielous value range from high to low as following:South-Guyang along the line>West Mine>East-Bai Ling Temple along the line>West-Ming' an Town along the line>East Mine>Main Mine.Six types of bryoflora were recongnnized in The Baiyun obo mining area.North Temperate was dominant(account for 51.06%);the second was accompanied with Cosmopolitan(account for 25%),the third was East Asia ranks(accounting for 12.77%).The result showed a conspicuous temperate trait and typical East Asian characteritic.This study identified the moss species in the Bayan Obo mine area,and enriched and improved the bryophyte data of Inner Mongolia.It is found that the diversity of the moss species in the mining area,especially the main mine and the east mine,is extremely low,and the ecological environment is seriously damaged,which needs to be protected.
