More and more printing enterprises consider passing quality management authentications such as ISO9000 as a way to improve the quality level of their products. Although some printing enterprises have better bases of quality management and pass quality certificates earlier, how to deepen quality management becomes an urgent problem. Because it is a long and arduous task to carry out ISO9000 and improve quality persistently, They can't rely on traditional methods to solve more and more complicated problems of total quality management. Therefore, quality management that bases on information and data becomes their inevitable choices.The paper simply states not only the development course of quality management but also the actuality that the printing enterprise confronts. In addition, the paper explains the necessity of applying SPC. Then, the paper deeply discusses and studies the statistical process and the basic tool of SPC-control chart. Besides, a sort of SPC application software-E-SPC is introduced. Based on this, combined with the actual condition of Tian Jin Haishun Printing Industry Co.,Ltd, X -R control chart is used to analyze and control the overprint precision and the density, another X-Rs control chart is used to analyze and control the density. In addition, p control chart is used to analyze and control the unqualified rate of the binding.According to these control charts, the workers not only found each correlative process fluctuation and the slow variation in time, but also found their deficiencies. In addition, SPC provides objective bases for the quality management men to assess semi-products or products quality, and almost all the workers and the quality management men recognize this way.
