Research And Design Of The Mobile Agent Communication Mechanism

Mobile agent technology combines Artificial Intelligence(AI) with distributed computing. Because of characteristic of mobile agent calculation mode, mobile agent technology has wide application prospects in electronic commerce, distance learning and network management. Communication is one of indispensable services in mobile agent system. The selection of communication mechanisms influences mobile agent system security and communication efficiency of mobile agent system. In order to resolve the problems above, This dissertation provides a communication model—DCMA, which is based on message transfer mechanism and can solute the deficiencies on communication efficiency of the already existing communication mechanism.In the existing communication mechanisms, The Agent message transfer mechanism generally may be divided into the following several kinds of types according to the realization method:Broadcasting method, Link Tracing method, Home Proxy method and Central Registration method. Through the analysis we can know, although these methods have their advantages respectively, there are some disadvantages in communication reliability, fast addressing, and expansibility, moreover those do not provide the solution of communicating invalidation.In order to resolve the disadvantages above, this dissertation designs a communication model—DCMA, which bases on message transfer. To achieve the model, we divide the network into domains. Then we propose a naming method—universal Agent naming(UAN) and name resolution mechanism. Based on this, we implement the transparent locating for mobile agents. Domain is used which improves the robustness of system. In the process of communication, mailbox and communication server are used to implement the asynchronism of communication system. In the communication algorithm, in order to short the time of locating and improve the communication efficiency, address registration and multicasting are used. At last, in order to solve the bottleneck caused by centralized control, we use address book.Through the data analysis we can know, the DCMA communication model not only realizes the safe and reliable communication among agents, but also has a higher stability, higher expandability and higher communication speed. It has truly realized the distributional communication mechanism.DCMA takes from the first letter of this system main components:Domain Server, Communication Server, Mailbox, Address book.
