The Design And Implementation Of VOD System Middleware Based On RTSP Protocol

This system is designed for digital television set-top company's sub subject about providing a comprehensive digital video on-demand VOD service system. And it aims at set up VOD server, providing access to users through the ethernet network to get data transmission from both server and client side, and achieve real-time video playback.This paper gives a brief introduction about basic theories on real-time multimedia network communications protocol of RTP, RTCP and RTSP. And also does some research in Linux socket programming on data transmission and communication system, and builds up VOD system server and client connection based on the Linux system through the socket connection.According to this thesis topic needs, system based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server operating system is choosed for VOD server. And this system implements all network module development, data send and receive module based on RTP protocol and process and session management module based on RTSP protocol.This paper gives related experiments and discussions for IP set-top box Internet information transmission of real-time multimedia application.
