Fiber connector is a kind of passive optoelectronic components, which is widely used and highest demand in optic network. Fiber ferrule is the key component of fiber connector, its grinding quality plays an important role in fiber communication quality of optic network. The position control, speed control, and trajectory control of fiber optic connector polisher console moving part depend on the servo system, whose positioning accuracy determines the fiber optic connector polishing quality. In this thesis, a set of fiber optic polisher servo control system was researched and developed with a Taiwan-funded enterprise that manufacture fiber ferrule according to the demand of high-precision grinding about fiber ferrule. Presently, the servo control system has been successfully applied in fiber connector polisher prototype, realized the automatic, high-precision grinding of the fiber ferrule. The project development tasks was undertaken by us include: polisher servo control system, feeding system, grinding motor frequency control system, discharging system, pneumatic control system, touch screen human machine interface , the design and implementation of the whole control system software.The main research contents include the following aspects:1. Introduced the market prospects, composition-structure, technical indicators of the fiber connector and the present situation of study about fiber connector grinding and servo control both at home and abroad.2. Analyzed the structure and working principle of the servo system, discussed the working style about 23S21 series of servo motor and ED200 servo amplifier which made in Kinco Electric Ltd.3. Studied the X-axis, Y-axis, A-axis movement control mode of fiber connector polisher console. Expounded the method of ECO2WIN software programming control ED200 servo amplifier detailedly, used the method of external PLC signal edge trigger and binary encoding to call program segments on the sequential programming of servo amplifiers, achieved the three axis'precise positioning of polisher console. Put forward a data integrative algorithm, established RS-485 communication between PLC and the servo amplifiers to achieve real-time changes about the target location of servo amplifiers.4. Designed polisher feeding system, pneumatic control system and touch screen human machine interface, used Mitsubishi FX2N Series PLC to program and control the whole machine, achieved the automatic control of fiber connector ferrule grinding.5. Completed the installation and debugging of the whole system, as well as the software design of servo control system and whole machine system. Practical application proved that the researched and developed prototype running stably, operating simply, it satisfied with the various technical indicators of the product requirements, which not only saved human resources and economic costs, but also laid a solid foundation for the follow-up study of this subject.
