With the rapid development of integrated circuit (IC), low-frequency Multi-Processor System-on-Chips (MPSoCs) will gradually replace the high-frequency single-core architecture. As the new interconnection structure for MPSoCs, Network-on-ship (NoC) uses the theory of computer communication network to solve the problems of MPSoCs interconnection based on bus. And it is necessary to simulate the performance of the new interconnection architecture of MPSoCs with software simulation platform.As MPSoCs interconnection is similar to the existing network architecture and OPNET has the advantage of flexibility in network simulation, an MPSoCs interconnection simulation software platform is designed based on OPNET. Firstly, the paper mainly discusses the present development of MPSoCs and the key technology of NoC. Secondly, the process of simulation platform building for MPSoCs interconnection is presented in detail. The platform is extendible and flexible, which simulates the key technology in NoC including Ring, Mesh and torus topology, XY routing algorithms, store-and-forward switching strategy and power. Finally, the application of parallel FFT algorithm is tested on the designed MPSoCs simulation platform and the results confirm the effectiveness of simulation platform. And the simulation platform provides theory and simulation support for the real system.
