Flat crack array antenna is widely used in practice with its advantages of cheap, light, and small size. However, the actual size of the antenna could not meet the designed size due to processing limitations, so analyzing the error is very important for the analysis of antenna's performance. Therefore, it is quite necessary to acquire the accurate measurement of the antenna with actual size. The traditional methods can not satisfy the engineering requirements with high-precision and high-speed. This paper presents an image measurement technology to measure the flat slot array antenna. The principle of this technology is that the digital image processing technology is used to extract the edge of the detected objects so that the geometric parameters of the detected objects are obtained. This image measurement is very suitable to measure the detected objects precisely with small size.This paper, based on the existing image measurement and processing theory, analyzes the features and requirements of the large image measurements, and those images are acquired by the flat crack array antenna. The image processing techniques involved in some researches, such as image filtering and edge detection etc, are discussed and studied in the thesis. Based on these techniques, this paper brings forward some methods being suitable to this topic. In this paper, an image measurement software is designed which verifies the practical feasibility of the image processing algorithm. This software of image measurement is used for accurate measurement of small size.In order to verify the accuracy of measurement algorithm, this paper presents the results of the flat crack array antenna measurement, and the results shows that the measurement accuracy is 0.001mm which illuminates the image processing and measurement algorithm is successful in practical application, and has better measurement results.
