"The media is the moving spotlight, rather than a mirror of the society, and meanwhile the operation of choice is the main tool for the media." Under the function of the framework, journalists can report and transfer the large amount of information quickly and efficiently to the audio-visual public. In order to give prominence to the view points of the entire report, the Journalists will choice the most important part as the part of the framework , while ignore the less important parts during the process of their selecting the news materials, which is like the photographers or artists do when they are compositing their works. And the journalists also decide whether the material is import or not in advance, and put more attention to the materials ,which they consider are important to interviewing,collecting,and writing.Chen Yunlin, the chairman of Chinese Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait led a group to visit Taiwan on November 3, 2008.And it was the first time that the highest-level visit of mainland since Taiwan had separated from the mainland about sixty years. During five-day visit, Mr. Chen Yunlin and Jiang Bingkun, the chairman of SEF, exchanged views on promoting tourism, cooperating to cope with the international financial crisis, and strengthening cross-straits economic cooperation, ect. And they also signed some negotiations, which related to cross-strait air links, direct shipping, postal services cooperation, food safety and other issues. Many medias called this journey as "the journey of peace" and they believed that this journey would open a new beginning for the development of cross-strait relations.Though there are only more than 23 million populations in Taiwan Province of China, there are very high-density media. Because the various medias have different political positions and ideology tends, so they focus on different concerned points in their news reports. Due to the different positions of the media, the angle of observation report about the second time Jiang-Chen Conference is significantly different. In this thesis the author hopes to study the news reports about the second time Jiang-Chen Conference and select 406 pieces of news, which is from November 2 to November 8 through the Taiwan portal Yahoo search, as a sample. The author will use the quantitative statistical manner,the content analysis and the framework theory as this thesis's methodology to analyze the situation of these reports about the second time Jiang-Chen Conference. By doing this, the author hopes to resolve the following major problems: Firstly, how did the Taiwan media report the second time Jiang-Chen Conference? Secondly, what are the differences between the different medias in reporting on the second time Jiang-Chen Conference? Thirdly, what were the frameworks when the Taiwan media reported the news? Fourly, whether their framework affected the Taiwan media's reports about the second time Jiang-Chen Conference? By exploring the differences between the situations of Taiwan media's reports about the second time Jiang-Chen Conference, the author hopes to find the influencing factors in news reports.This study compiled the basic situation about the second time Jiang-Chen Conference news report, including the type of news, the information source, as well as the selection of the reported events and issues. The study also found that different medias had different orientations and different frameworks in reporting on the second time Jiang-Chen Conference which led to different results of the news reports. In addition, the framework of the media has great influence on the content of the media reports.
