The Narrative Study On China's Storytelling Talk Shows

Narration is a basic activity along with the development of human history. TV talk show is a kind of new program which was introduced to China from the western countries in the 1990s. Storytelling TV talk shows as an important part of the TV talk shows has developed rapidly in China in recent years. To our regret, in a large number of Chinese storytelling talk shows, only a small number of programs are good enough to be praised by the audience, of which the most important reason is the roughness and mediocre of the narrative art.In this paper, the art of narration as a key point of the study, using characteristic narrative, television arts, dissemination, psychology and related theories, combined with a large number of examples of programs that explore the characteristics in the narrative elements, narrative skills, narrative strategy of storytelling Chinese TV talk shows, and concluded: there are many things in common between storytelling talk shows' narration and traditional literary's narration, in narrative elements such as the narrator, narrative time, narrative content and narrative skills such as the perspective choice of narrative, the rhythm control, the design of the conflict. However, as audio-visual art, storytelling TV talk shows can also use all kinds of sounds and pictures, all-rounded, multi-channeled in the process of narration, which is difficult to match for the traditional literary's narration. Chinese narrative television talk shows found our own narrative strategies in practice which is reflected in the nationalization, entertainment and make celebrities more connected to ordinary people in the programs and civilians. In the Final part, the author of this article criticized the fallacy of the deficiency of authenticity in the storytelling talk shows and trying to find a road of the true narrative for the programs.
