Along with technology scaling many new design challenges have emerged, one of them is power dissipation, researchs show that the on-chip memory become the main power consumption source of on-chip system. SPM (Scrach-pad Memory) with small size and low power consumption advantages, has been widely used in embedded systems, power consumption research on SPM become the focus of research.According to the previous gate-level static power models which do not evalute SPM static power consumption availably, this thesis analyses the principle about the emergence of leaking current at free, pre-charge, read and write phase of SPM's sub-circuits, such as memory array, decoding logic, column logic, etc. and a static power consumption model which based on simulation at transistor-level is proposed to evaluate static power consumption of SPM.According to the previous average power consumption model which do not reflect the characteristic that the actual circuit power consumption varied as the input varied and do not support compiling technology based on SPM availably, a SPM power model based on circuit activity is proposed to evalute dynamic power consumption of SPM. In the model, the switch capacitance of SPM is computed by using the circuit input and output informations of SPM while executing a program. In order to obtain the circuit input and output informations of SPM while a program is excuted, a SPM simulator based on SimpleScalar is proposed. In the Simulator, firstly, the executable file is loaded into SPM space, and instructions are fetched to decode from SPM space; secondly, the program is simulated untill there is no instruction in SPM; finally, the run-time informations are outputed. The experiment shows that, when simulating the whole power dissipation of SPM, the static power consumption model proposed speed up and restrict the inaccuracy within the pale of 25%, the dynamic power consumption model proposed can compute the power disspate according as the characteristic of circuit input and guarantee the veracity.
