The Study Of Marxist Propaganda On "Weekly Review"

"Weekly Review" is an important publication to study and propagate Marxism during the May Four period. The purpose of its founding is to actively seek the truth, to explore the path of salvation; to arm people with scientific truth, to mobilize the people to transforme the Chinese society by coordinating the "New Youth". By adopting a set of characteristic practices,"Weekly Review" promoted the dissemination of Marxism in China greatly and it also open a new chapter in the transformation of Chinese society bu following Marism.This article covers the following contents :the research of basic Marxism points,Marxism propaganda ideas and practices of "Weekly Review" In the research of basic Marxism points , this paper argues that, "Weekly Review" seized Marxism's core concepts at the beginning ,that is , the historical materialism of Marxism and dialectic thoughts .It realized that people are the real driving force to make history, and accepted the Marxist theory of class struggle.At last ,it adopted class struggle for the mobilization of people. In the propagating of Marxism , this paper argues that, "Weekly Review" has adopted a method of closely connecting the overall interests of the Chinese nation with the fundamental interests of the Chinese society. In accordance with the actual fact that the majority of Chinese people with low levels of literacy practice,in the practice of Marxism, the "Weekly Review" adopted the following methods to attract the people and propagate Marxismsuch as taking the current comments, viewpoints' debate, feature columns and articles reprinted in other newspapers.Through all these efforts, "Weekly Review" in made important contributions in the Marxism propaganda, which has greatly expanded the Marxism influence in China and has strongly critised pragmatism, anarchy and feudal superstition. However, due to the study and propaganda of Marxism in the initial stage, as a result, our understanding of Marxism is still inaccurate and not clear towards parts of the Marxist point of view particularly in China, a land of semi-colonial semi-feudal society, how to combine Marxism with the actual facts in China to realize the sinicization of Marxism asked us to deepen our understanding not only in the theory study but also in practice.
