Nowadays, the three dimensional technology has been widely applied to such areas as Movies special-effects, Games, Education, Scientific-research and so on. For educational technology majors, it is an important course and can not be ignored. After surveying the teaching and learning of this course in the colleges, it can be seen that the teaching condition is not optimistic and there exist many misunderstandings in the teaching process, which directly leads to students'incompetence in 3D modeling and animation so that they alone cannot construct the 3D scene, the animated movie and so on. In addition to the improvement of the teacher's teaching competence and the richness of the sources, the students'study on the 3D technology should also be emphasized and furthered to improve their ability. In that case, the MAXScript, the script language built-in 3DS MAX, is undoubtedly a very good helper. The MAXScript has many advantages, for example, strong systematicness, easy grammar, simple operation, fast script plug-in programs writing and so on. All in all, it would offer much help to students.As to the learning of MAXScript and the writing of script plug-in, the author investigated and analyzed the development of plug-in technology and the market of script plug-ins, finding that the existing plug-ins do not facilitate students'learning and use. There exist some problems, for example: there are too many parameters to prohibit use; the price is too high to afford; sometimes the decipherable plug-in would cause 3DS MAX system unstable or even paralyzed and so on. Under this condition, the author's thought of writing a plug-in came into being. The new plug-in is named"Cubology", which aims to improve the efficiency of 3D movies creation. This script plug-in seeks to be easy to operate and convenient and powerful to use; meanwhile, it has four functions, that is, model creating, animating, texture adding to an object and auxiliary means. In the creating submodule, users can create some models such as morpher-lamps or morpher-cups. In the animating submodule, they can create a twinkling animation for the choosed objects. Texture submodule provides functions of reset and deletion for object'texture.Auxiliary means submodule provides some normal tools such as selection and deletion in defferent classification,triangle light and so on.After the use of"Cubology"plug-in in Kai Feng University, the teachers and students gave a positive appraisal and some helpful suggestions at the same time.This thesis includes four sections in all. The basic idea of each section is introduced as follows.Section one serves as a brief introduction to the thesis. Section two makes a study on the design and development of the script plug-in technology which includes the market research of the script plug-in, the design of"Cubology", and the development of the script plug-in.Section three is the Cubology's application and evaluation.Section four summarizes the major findings of the empirical study, the limitations of the present research and the prospects.
