WDM-PON is considered as the ultimate solution of FTTH and has a very bright future as an OAN technology. It's important to develop it for meeting the practical demand of bandwidth in OAN. The matured business WDM-PON systems are expected in the coming 10 years and it is going to benifit the society prosperously.In this paper, an idea based on point to multiple point wavelength Multiplexing/De-Multiplexing are proposed. A new hybrid CWDM/TDM-PON structure is introduced and named nhCT-PON. The general structure of nhCT-PON, design of OLT, design of Multiplexing/De-Multiplexing module on Remote Node, design of ONU/ONT are studied and discussed. Furhtermore, it explained the physical realization of the nhCT-PON trial system. Based on the trial system design, the theoretical coverage capability, Element Management System, Network topologies and survivability also are discussed respectively. |
