WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing)is an effective way to expand the capacity for fiber tele-communication .Especially, With the metro network construction becoming more popular ,The CWDM system are adopted in metro network widely due to the high performance to cost ratio.CWDM device is the cornerstone for the CWDM system construction. So, it will make great sense to develop a high performance, low cost CWDM component which also is compliant to the RoHS (Restriction on The Use of Hazardous Substance).A new design for the CWDM component is proposed in this paper, the key parts are basically made of glass tubes, which is also named as "All-glass" structure or "All-glue"technology.It means that all of the parts are joined together by the glue. A special self-adaptable "Spherical Joint" structure is adopted here, which can make the assembly process easier and cut short the whole process time greatly when compared to the traditional soldering process. More detailed description is presented here for the total assembly process and some factors are analyzed, which may affect the loss performance. Finally, We got a whole testing about the samples .The result showed that this component not only achieved high performance but also passed the whole set reliability testing .This work can be taken as the foundation for the future commercialization and give a good reference to the developing of next DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) and other fiber passive components in all-glass.
