LCD display with its various applications, which is widely used and known, enriches the colors of this information society in nowadays. However, wider marketing prospects require higher quality and process.In this paper, we introduced the development history and manufacturing procedures of LCD, and put emphasis on LCD cell assembly procedure and process. With the LCD size became bigger and bigger, traditional process can no longer meet the requirements of production. Currently, we are using ODF(One drop flow) technology to reduce LCD Cell assembly process time. However, with this technology it is hard to control cell gap uniformity. Based on the analysis of Cell structure and manufacturing procedures, we conclude the five main causes of the problem: the diameter of spacer, the volume of liquid crystal, the diameter of silica, the shape of sealant and the density of spacer. All these five causes effect both the peripheral cell gap and in plane gap. By analysis of process and cell structure, there are five factors affecting both the peripheral cell gap and in plane gap. Based on the principle of changing only one factor of the five causes and keeping the others unchanged, we conceive experiments and got the best process parameters and conclude how largely every cause affects the peripheral Cell gap and in plane gap. Before very experiment we explain the principles and diagram , and analysis of the impact of the product ,then do test by 15-inch products .We get the gap data by measurement equipment and drew into a trend. The factor of every effect can be got by trend and display .By this experiment we get the best parameters which make the gap and display both good. At the same time, we know that which is important for panel gap, and which is important for peripheral cell gap. In practical application, we should pay more attention to the match of five effect .This experiment provide a clear thought for achieve uniform cell gap.In this paper, the experiment design and results have some directive values to manufacture LCD Cells with uniform gap. Especially for the new line to produce and new product introduction, it can offer a certain reference value and help company to achieve uniform gap in short time, improve quality to meet market demand and get profits ultimately.
