The optical 3D measurement technology is more and more used in domain of high-speed online detection,medical diagnosis and CAD/CAE,as it's non-touching and non-destructive,and it has high resolution and fast data getting.With the development of technology,its application in medical beauty and plastic surgery and in 3D face recognition is beginning to be paid attention to.The geometric parameter measurement and feature location of the face are the key technology in the application of the optical 3D measurement.The research of this paper is mainly divided into two parts.The first part aims to solve the problem in the geometric parameter measurement of the face.At first the measurement technology of the optical 3D morphology is used to get the 3D digital information of the face.The information is used to reconstruct the face in the computer.Then some parameters about the specified region of the face can be calculated according to the geometric relationship,such as the surface area and the curve length between two points.The second part aims to locate the primary features of the face,which includes the eyebrows,the eyes,the nose and the mouth.It is based on the combination of the 2D gray-scale information and the 3D height data.In the beginning the Canny operator is used to extract the edge of the whole face.The position of the eyebrows is estimated according to the horizontal and vertical projections.The eyeball can be located accurately by the use of Hough Transform.The location of the nose and the mouth is mainly based on the 3D height data gotten from the optical measurement.The theory above is realized in a 3D simulation system of CAD medical measurement,which is developed on the VC platform.The system includes optical measurement,data processing,3D picture display,geometric parameter calculation and the feature location.The man-machine non-contact measurement is implemented in it.
