In this paper, we discussed how to deal with the problems such as circuit,software,system's reliability and so on in an automatic control system(including air humidity sensor, soil moisture sensor, temperature sensor, light intensity sensor). This system is based on ATMELAT89C51 microcontroller as the core, and constitued by the sensor circuit, signal processing circuit, peripherals (keyboards, monitors, etc.) configuration interface circuit, the output circuit like a control circuit. It can collect environment al informations by the sensors and control the peripherals in multi-channel. By the sensors this system can work in automatic mode,it also can be work in a manual control mode (fix-time to control).In the hardware design, we selected the HM1500-capacitive humidity sensor which is economy and practicality to detect the air humidity,and used SWR2 soil moisture sensor which is the latest researched sensor for soil moisture detecting; the most economic AD590 was used to detect temperature; HD2021T was used as a light intensity sensor light sensors ; ADC0809 was used as the A / D converter; we also used synthesis keyboard and LED nixie light to control and display, the output consist by audion,optical couple,relays and so on.In the software design,we used modular design which is popular now, software development based on C which is easy to transplant and has strong real-time effect. The whole software include such modules: monitoring program; clock procedure; keyboard identify procedure; A / D convert process,display procedure and so on.The simulation showed that the system had a high reliability and ratio of performance to price, it also achieved the desired features. Finally, we made some advises about the automatic control system for the further improvement.
