With single-chip integration has increased to nearly 1 billion magnitude, design capacity provided by traditional methods based on the EDA tools manual design less than the requirement of the market.Evolvable hardware as a promising solution is becoming a hot spot in the field of computer architecture and electronic design automation research.FPGA devices which supports dynamic reconfiguration technology can be part of the emergence for the continuous development of evolvable hardware and will provide a good platform for the research and design.This thesis studies dynamic part reconfigurable FPGA-based evolvable hardware technology and based on Xilinx's Virtex-Ⅱpro series FPGA devices designs the evolvable hardware fitness assessment model named B-Chameleon.First,this thesis analyzes the evolvable hardware fitness assessment requirements,according to one of these requirements,high speed,decides to adopt dynamic reconfigurable technology to achieve this goal.Then introduces the dynamic reconfigurable technology Principle,analyzes all of the three Reconfiguration methods of Virtex-Ⅱpro series FPGA in detail.Bitstream-based technology is more flexible and less download strings than the others, module-based and difference-based,and the speed of reconfiguration is higher,so it is more suitable for evolvable hardware.Then based on actual situation,this thesis analyzes the structure of Bitstream, designs B-Chameleon platform,makes bitstream-based dynamic reconfigurable hardware technology apply to the evolution of fitness assessment.First, decomposes the evolvable hardware fitness assessment process into five functional modules:read,filter,modify,configure and test;analyzes the accuracy and time-consuming of using the platform;Lastly,to verify the correctness of the design,verifies two functional modules of B-Chameleon platform:configuration and readback based on the Xilinx XUP Series FPGA development board.To avoid the damage caused by illegal Bitstream,algorithm of filtering Bitstream was analyzed.
