To improve the bare printed circuit board (PCB) tester's stability, compactness and the test speed, to simplify the design of circuit board, to improve the reconfiguration ability of system and the convenience of transplantation of testing algorithmization, the article originates a design scheme of PCB tester's hardware control system based on embedded industrial control computer PC104 and field programmable gate array(FPGA).In the scheme we designed effectively high voltage control circuit. It works accurately to digitally control the testing voltage and testing current. Applying two high-voltage electrical switches to substitute for high-voltage analog multiplexer, it can improve the testing voltage greatly. We introduced multiple electrical suppliers to control high-voltage electrical switches in condition of comparatively low voltage.We introduced highly reliable industrial embedded computer PC 104 as the testing system's main computer. Owning to the fact that PC 104 does not control the testing hardware circuit in the whole testing process, it can deal with complicatedly testing arithmetic without reducing the testing speed. It can collaterally operate testing and data processing to improve the system's capability of data processing.The core of the control system is composed of FPGA and the design method of designing software with hardware. Because the testing control is completely fulfilled by the hardware, it can greatly improve the testing speed and the testing reliability. In condition of FPGA's dynamic reconfiguration, the system's hardware configuration and function can be promoted run-timely, the system can achieve good convenience for maintenance. Using advanced ASIC design theory, adopting Verilog hardware description language and high-reliable universal intellectual property (IP) core, we designed the control system and accomplished the whole testing logic in hardware level.In the design, applying Altera corporation's FPGA ACEX1K EP1K50, using EDA tools such as Synplify, Modelsim, Quartus II and Verilog hardware description language, we accomplished the hardware design and debug of the whole control system, solved the imperfect problem by using general digital circuit.
