Human society has entered the information age, information resources could be the core resource of modern society. Along with China's information development, it is more convenient and easier for people to get all kinds of information resources. But as the public communication media, the news media is the society's largest information resource owner. It controls the vast majority of the information collection, collation and dissemination of the society. As an important component of the national economy, the book publishing industry's growing stronger also needs to carry on the scientific information work. Therefore, the relationship between news media and publishing industry will become closer in the age of mass media.News media may tremendously influence all aspects of book publishing, from market research, book topics selection, planning to publishing and promotion. This has been widely recognized by the whole publishing industry. And the whole book publishing industry and people have personal impression on this matter. But there was only very few publishing enterprises could deeply research news media's impact on the book publishing, and could really scientifically, rationally and effectively make use of media to serve book publishing and developing the best-selling books. Some people blind believe in media, some people do not know how to communicate with media, and their understanding of publishing industry's influence on the media is also very narrow. Therefore, this article will discuss the mechanism of media's influence on book publishing industry and summarize the experience how did the book publishing industry use news media to operate the best-selling book, and try to find some rules through analysis of the real cases, then brought forwarder some creative and feasibly ways about how to use the influence of news media on publishing industry scientifically and reasonably.
