Design And Implementation Of Video And Animation Playing Software System Based On DirectShow And Shockwave

With the fact that Internet, wireless communication, personal computer and other digital products are more and more popular, People's requirement for the storage of digital data grows quickly. In the last 10 years of the last century, Compact Disc is the main medium for the storage of digital data. As the capacity of Compact Disc is too small to meet the requirement for the storage of digital data, a new standard appeared. The name of the new stand is DVD(Digital Versatile Disc).Because of its large capacity and high performance, DVD is applied to the film, computer games and the data storage field. While DVD has been well known and have been widely applied, most of its usres do not quite understand the technology and principle of it. As some of the technology and principle of DVD are very professional, a system which can show the principle of DVD and make it easy to understand is necessary.This paper first gives a brief view of DirectX technology, DirectShow technology and Shockwave technology. These technologies are involved in the implementation of video and animation playing software system.This paper combines with the Guangdong science center digital world principle of DVD project, and introduces the design and implementation of video and animation playing software system which is used to show the principle of DVD. The system is based on DirectShow technology and Shockwave technology. The system is used to play video and Multimedia animation. Usre can do some playing control such as Play/Stop, Pause/Resume and Next/Prev. And the administrators can do some system management such as load video and animation files, backup system and restore system.In the end, this paper gives the test result in practical application of video and animation playing software system.
