In this paper, from a philosophical perspective, I propose the spirit crisis and analyze the causes. And on this basis, I make that aesthetic spirit is the major driving forces to alleviate the crisis. And then, I propose the mass communication's aesthetic function by analysis on the relationship between the mass communication and spirit crisis, and the situation about mass communication.The mass communication's aesthetic function is the positive impact and role to the general public, when the media transfer aesthetic information, including"entertaining","good for mental health"and"humanitarianism", which is good for solving the human spirit crisis.However, in China, the mass communication function of aesthetic still has many shortcomings. In view of the mass function of the aesthetic situation, the author analyzes the causes and proposes solutions.Finally, the author propose the four channels of upgrading the mass communication's aesthetic function: at first, we must see mass communication as the aesthetic object; Secondly, we must see mass communication as the aesthetics spirit of the material carriers; thirdly, we must see mass communication as the channel of easing people's mental imbalance; At last, we must establish mass communication aesthetic function mechanism.
