With the rapid development of mobile technology, smart phone emerged, which combined PDA, E-commerce, multimedia and entertainment etc. Compared with traditional cell phone, smart phone possess more powerful functions, more platform openness, more connectivity with Internet and also more severe information security problems. This paper analyzed and researched on smart phone's threatening information security issues nowadays, also designed and implemented Smart phone Safeguard System (3S) which is based on SMS tunnel.Firstly, this paper gave an overview on related theories and techniques used in the development of 3S system. After studying GSM and GPRS, SMS, tunnel technology, encryption and authentication, and analyzing the requirements of system in detail, combined with SMS's simple, quick and inexpensive features, this paper provided a smart phone safeguard solution on the overall architecture—communicating between client and server through SMS. The core of design is an end-to-end communication message protocol based on SMS tunnel, by which SMS control message is encapsulated as common message at the sender, and transferred through the telecommunication network and Internet (SMS tunnel) to the receiver.Then receiver parses it by the protocol, and distills the command to accomplish corresponding operation. Based on SMS tunnel, several function modules were designed and implemented including smart phone automatic and SMS remote control locking and unlocking, short message and calling forward under SMS remote control and contacts uploading and downloading etc. Besides, this paper provided end-to-end SMS encryption and authentication that enhanced securities and realized secure tunnel. Finally, this paper briefly introduced the key technology used in the implementation.This system is characteristic of providing a simple, practical and completed smart phone safeguard solution, which can greatly enhance the security of information in the smart phone, protect private information and offer important clues for getting back smart phone. With nowadays popularization of smart phone, the security of information has been more severe, which makes the research of smart phone safeguard based on intelligent platform play a more and more important role however in scientific research, economic field or socical area.
