With rapid development of network technology, internet has imposed more and more impact on copyright system. In recent years the practice shows that legal measures alone can not protect the copyright. While the technology of digitization makes it easy for the works to spread, piracy to the works on the internet becomes easy too. So the copyright owners take technological measures to strengthen the protection of their works.Digit Rights Management (DRM) is the tool that protects and manages the intellectual property of digital content during producing spreading, selling and using. Its target is to make use of technique means to suppress pirating, to protect the intellectual property of digital product, to ensure the outlet of the market sale expedite of digital Products, and to guarantee the benefits of authors, publishers the legal usage right of the customers. Digital rights management(DRM)is becoming a key enabling technology to protect intellectual property of digital contents , control their dissemination and usage. Digital copyright protection technology can prohibit the illegal use, so in a practical application, it has a bright future.Based on collecting and analyzing literatures internal and overseas about DRM, the paper studies the technical system, function structure and information structure theory, and the system model of DRM. The paper put out a new method based on "lock" and "key" to protect the intellectual property of digital product, and also probes into the application of DRM on e-book copyright management. The system will separate encryption and de decryption, so we could access to the data safely. The paper also discussed the research directions in this area.
