With the development of city informationization construction, the demand on the comprehensive information system that integrate spatial data with non-spatial data become more urgent. Wireless technology develops so fast that wireless monitor systems are widely applied in many fields. And Geographic Information System(GIS), having the predominance of management the spatial and non-spatial data, is playing a more important role in modern life. How to combine the static spatial data and the real-time monitoring data becomes the trend of the city wireless monitor system. In this paper, we studied deeply wireless monitoring system and component GIS, implemented all components of involving in wireless monitoring system based on GIS; proposed the solution for water supply pipeline monitoring system based on these components. Concrete works are as follows:Firstly, we introduce basis theory, concept and characteristics of COMGIS component.Secondly, after analyzing the structure of wireless monitoring system, we designed the overall framework of wireless monitoring system, which integrated component-based GIS technology. With the ArcObject as second developing tool for GIS, we design and realize the target for the wireless monitor system component.Thirdly, with water supply pipe system as one of the application, we will establish water supply system automatic information management and link the monitor spot data with the management network location. This paper realizes the integration for the GIS component with monitoring system and makes possible for the software structure to be reusable and be extended. According to the real application, the paper also offers optima tic solution for the water supply pipe monitoring system based on the wireless monitoring system component.
