It is an inevitable trend for GCAD system to convert from 2D to 3D due to 3D computer technology's maturity and the necessity of customized garment. 3D garment design is the core part of garment CAD system. Therefore, it is great significance to conduct research on the key tecnnology of the design of tuck. Based on the analysis on the current research status and the remined problem of existed GCAD system, a new tuck construct method base on 3D-Mesh is put forword.Meantime, besides considering the curve of tuck on the basis of the physical simulation, wo also use some geometric method to improve the appearance of tuck.The base mesh of tuck is the basis for garment tuck design process. The first part of chapter 2, the construction of the base mesh of tuck algorithm is introduced. Firstly, introduce some exited data structure and algorithm in the system. Then focused on how to determine the contours of grid points on the mesh of the clothes, and then these points generate the border cutting line of the tuck, and then use region selection algorithm to cutting the tuck mesh. The construction of the impact region of tuck algorithm is introduced in the second part of chapter 2. Though the physical simulation of the tuck, the curve and size of impact region of the tuck is determined, then construct the impact region of the tuck on the cloth.The surface construction of tht tuck is the key point of the thesis. Though the physical simulation of the tuck, the surface epuation of the tuck is determined, garment piecewise technique, and then through the transformation the base mesh of the tuck and the interpolation method to construct tuck piece one and tuck piece two. In addition this chapter also involves the post processing of the initial tuck mesh, including adding depth mesh for the tuck, tuck mesh special treatment. The overall framework and processes of tuck project is introduced in Chapter 4, including the overview and needs of project, the design of project and the flow chart of some key algorithm. And then LookStailorX system frame is introduced, Brief introduction on development environment of this system and detailed description on application of the above research in LookStailorX system are provided as well.Finally, chapter 5 includes a summary of the author's research and the prospects, separately from the perspectives of technique and application of this project.
