Digital image acquisition processing refers to image collection and acquisition of expected image information using computer and other related digital technique. The technique has an extensive prospect in many areas, e.g. computer vision, industrial detection, military, police, medical treatment, etc. The current image acquisition system mainly uses image acquisition card with PCs. However, due to the big volume, high cost and the poor stability of the system and its strong demand to environment, it is restricted in its application.With the stepwise development of image signal processing algorithms and the constant improvement of running velocity and precision of digital signal processors, the hardware system using DSP as the core is also able to execute image processing. And it is reasonable to develop image system using DSP without PC. This paper firstly analyzes the development status of domestic and overseas digital image acquisition system, and then uses Blackfin561 DSP as the core, finally utilizes CMOS image sensor as processing system in image acquisition unit according to the actual application demand. This system is an integrated high velocity image acquisition processing system. Not only can it acquire image signals, but also it can display real-time image, especially it can analyze the image signals and execute image processing algorithms. Comparing to the traditional image processing systems using CCD as image sensor and using PC and programmable logical devices as the base processor with lots of external devices, the main characteristics of this system are its high integration, rapid processing, low cost and flexible application. It primely satisfies the actual demand of this subject. In addition, this system is able to be applied in diversified fields of image acquisition outputs and subsequent computing application. In particular, it has an extensively actual significance in some portable applications.This paper gives a relative detailed discussion for the subject's research content. Firstly, this paper chooses the devices by analyzing the subject demand in detail and designs system in collectivity. And then this paper introduces the architecture and characteristic of Blackfin561 DSP and designs the each function model of image acquisition processing system in detail. In addition, it completes the software design of the whole system including initialization of system, initialization of image sensor and design of image acquisition processing software, and introduces centroid computing and color space transform algorithms. Finally, this paper gives the experimental acquisition image and the computing result of image centroid.
