Design And Implementation Of The GPRS Content-based Billing System

With the rapid growth of data service,new data service applications become more and more abundant. The current billing modes for data services mainly includes the fixed payment by month,billing according to the data flow and billing according to the downloading times. These old billing modes are very single,and they also have a few defects. So we introduce the concept of content-based billing to adapt to the varied applications of the telecom operators provided,help the telecom operators to exploit new application area,and satisfy the personalized and multiform requirements of the final users. Content-based billing is a way of billing based on the contents of user browsed. We analyze the data flows and contents generated by the process of user used data services synthetically,and identify every kind of billing elements,then calculat the fee based on the analytical results. This project will update the old GPRS billing system. Because of the changing of billing mode,we redesign and rewrite the system kennel part-GPRS billing module. The system is designed in the model of layered modular structure,and involves the concept of data-driven design,including preprocessing,sorting,detecting duplicate CDRs,billing,loading CDRs into database, roaming process,loading error CDRs into database,reprocesssing error CDRs,and managing users' data. Based on the consideration of the whole system's architecture, performance,operability, transportability and maintainability,the system is written in UNIX C/C++,and uses Oracle9i database server. This new system would help TianJin Mobile Communication Company to extend data service applications rapidly,and it also could provide mush more support for the development of market. At last we can reduce users' complains and improve user satisfaction through this system upgrade because it would solve the original billing system's defects radically.
