Traditional system simulation technology is mainly used in scientific calculation. Because the requirement of complicated system simulation increased constantly, it became very complex to describe the modeling process or analyze the simulation result by adopting such mathematical modeling as central technology. It was also hard to get the entire, vivid and intuitive simulation outcome. Judgments and decisions could not be made in time, and lots of valuable information may be even lost. As computer technology developed drastically, it entered the virtual reality domain. Contemporary scientific technology can be adopted to build up a 3D virtual graphic space which can be observed, controlled and interacted by human beings. Virtual reality simulation combines virtual reality and system simulation to be an entire system. It contains the features of two systems. Virtual reality simulation system is an extension of normal visual simulation. It realizes essential revolution and has wildly application future.This paper researched and developed a visual simulation system of HTS(high temperature superconductor) magnetic levitation launch equipment. Firstly it researched the structure of the visual system and built up multiple view models. Base on that, 3DS MAX was used to build up the three dimensional models of the scene. Secondly, the operation and launch process of HTS magnetic levitation launch equipment was analyzed. Mathematical and physical model was built up and combined with geometrical model to realize visual simulation by using Java3D API. Finally, Java Swing module was used to design the interaction interface and the system was complete.The demo result indicates that, by utilizing the vision modeling theory and method stated in this document, the three dimensional scene basically meets the demands of the human's vision and obtains a vivid effect at some degree. The visual simulation system can simulate the operation and launch process of HTS magnetic levitation launch equipment. Users can observe the equipment from different viewpoints at different time. All the software used in this paper was developed, debugged, running on Windows XP platform.
