Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a novel network that is proposed to collect transmit and communicate data to the Base Station(BS).Because the nodes always work outdoors and are battery-powered,how to prolong the lifetime by conserving limited battery resources is particularly important to WSNs.Clustering is a fundamental mechanism to prolong the lifetime.In clustering algorithms.It's a important factor that How to raise energy efficiency.Based on the above background,firstly,the characteristics,applications and foreground of WSNs are introduced,then,this paper gives several classic clustering algorithms and energy consumption models.Next,author proposes an approach about saving energy on it and gains a formula between network energy and clustering radius.The last,author designs a new clustering algorithm.It can reduce communication overlapping between clusters,save energy and prolong network lifetime by weigh the energy,the degree and the communication cost of nodes.The main work in this dissertation is summarized as follows1,The author researchs several clustering algorithms.2,The author analyses the network energy consumption.3,The clustering radius is optimized by the energy consumption algorithm.4,The author designs a new clustering algorithms by weigh the enery consumption.Overall,simulations shows that these algorithms which presented in this paper can get satisfied solutions and provide some references for the related research works.
