This dissertation studies the problem of robust control for uncertain time-delay systems. The development of robust control theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique is summed up at first, and then according to different uncertain time-delay systems, the robust stability condition and the methods of robust controller design of these systems are studied. It is as follows:Firstly, Based on Lyapunov stability theory, the sufficient condition of both robust stability and performance for uncertain linear time-delay systems is obtained via the linear matrix inequality approach. Thereby, design robust memoryless H-infinity controllers for uncertain linear time-delay systems and prove corresponding conclusion. A numerical example suggests that the proposed design method is effective.Secondly, the problem of the reliable guaranteed cost control based on a [0,σ] model of failure is investigated for a class of interconnected uncertain system with time-varying delays, nonlinear perturbation and parameter uncertainties containing actuator failure. By using Lyapunov approach and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, a sufficient condition for the existence of the reliable guaranteed cost controller is derived, which renders the system a guaranteed cost.Thirdly, The robust stability and H_∞control problem of a class of uncertain Linear systems with time-varying delay and with matched uncertainties is discussed. Based on Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality, a condition for asymptotically stable and a condition for H_∞controller are derived. Finally, the robust secondary stabilization with independent time-delay of the linear uncertain system is considered. The problem is discussed based on states feedback, and the sufficient condition for the existing of the robust stabilization controller is given based on LMI. It is easy to find the solution of controller using LMI toolbox. It overcomes the Riccati's shortcomings for solving these problems.
