Research Of Grid Resource Discovery Based On P2P Mechanism

Grid is a new type of network computing platform emerged after the World Wide Web, whose objective is to provide a kind of infrastructure which shares all kinds of information for users. Grid computing has attracted widespread attention because various online resources can be integrated into a computer with super processing capability. Discovery of Grid Resource is the basis of sharing resources. Whether the grid resources can be efficiently discovered becoming one of the most important criteria for evaluating grid system.At first, this paper briefly introduced the characteristics, architecture of grid, then analyzed characteristics and discovery method of grid resources. The challenges that Grid Resource Discovery facing are distribution,dynamic and heterogeneous of grid resource. The above-said problems can be solved though using P2P technology because both grid technology and P2P technology is distributed computing model and their overall goals are similar.After analyzed several P2P resources discovery, Referred to the thought of "SMALL WORLD" model in P2P, the Grid-P2P model is proposed, the concept of "interest" is introduced into the construction of Super-peer Layer in this paper. At the same time, a resource index table is established at the central node to overcome the defect of centralized resource discovery over-rely on the central server of the original grid system. At last, a simulated experiment using JXTA is preceded, test results showed that this method increased validity and accuracy of resource discovery.
